Stefanos Tsitsipas: "He (Alcaraz) controls the ball so well. He has this ability to change direction so easily. He reminds me a bit of Novak (Djokovic) when he plays. In the way he constructs his points, the way he uses his mind to find tactical solutions, he has an answer for everything.
I felt like I was hitting great shots, but his responses were always better than my shots. Honestly, I did everything I could, but it didn't work out. I couldn't do better.
I consider that my ball quality is among the best, but every time I play against Carlos, I find a shot quality I have hardly ever seen against my other opponents. His shots are long, deep, with a lot of spin and I never managed to find a good solution against that.
In a sense, he outpowers me, but he is patient enough to do it in an intelligent manner. I have very rarely felt that against other players. You can count them on one hand, maybe one or two.
I'm not going to lie, I was confident (before the match), maybe even more than usual. This might have let me down in the past, but I was sure I could offer something different against Carlos compared to the previous times. But this kid is just too strong.
I just have to get over this mental barrier. But today, it's like there was a voodoo doll on the court. I wasn't able to put the ball where I wanted, it was just incredible."
