Popyrin đánh bại Ruud, á quân năm 2024 và lần đầu tiên vào tứ kết tại Monte-Carlo

Popyrin đã giành chiến thắng sau ba set trước Ruud, á quân năm 2024. Tay vợt người Na Uy trước đó cũng đã dừng bước ở giai đoạn này của giải đấu tại Masters 1000 Miami.

Dù bị dẫn break ở set cuối cùng và đối mặt với nhiều điểm match, tay vợt xếp hạng 27 thế giới đã vượt qua khó khăn. Đây là lần đầu tiên người Úc này lọt vào tứ kết một giải Masters 1000 trên mặt sân đất nện.

Popyrin sẽ gặp Davidovich Fokina ở vòng đấu tiếp theo.
